Manufacturing – Receiving & Inventory Clerk

Position Summary:
The Receiving & Inventory Clerk is responsible for all incoming parts and materials, and also acts as an extension of the Purchasing department.  The ideal candidate for this position possesses good organizational skills, enthusiasm, and is motivated to get the job done in a fast paced environment.  This individual will work closely with the Assembly Manager, Plant Manager and Purchasing to coordinate incoming materials.  PAI emphasizes and coaches a Team approach to problem solving throughout the organization.

Daily receiving activities will involve:
– Receiving parts into the system that are delivered each day from various vendors.  Some parts are delivered directly by local distributors, many others are shipped via UPS and Fed Ex
– Unloading trucks manually and with fork trucks, moving/sorting boxes and skids
– Verifying parts received against packing lists
– Verifying packing lists to purchase orders
– Receiving parts into ERP system (computer data entry)
– Checking inventory stock levels and reordering as needed
– Picking parts from Bin locations for jobs and distributing to correct job carts or personnel and making appropriate inventory adjustments through ERP system.
– Unloading fabricated parts from paint carts, identifying and distributing parts to correct job carts or personnel
– Processing Purchase Order confirmations
– Following up with vendors on order confirmations not received yet
– Issuing wood for crating to jobs into ERP system

Other responsibilities may also include:
– Setting up new part numbers, descriptions, pricing and other part details in ERP system
– Processing work order packets for the fabrication department
– Creating simple work orders
– Contacting alternate suppliers to see if they have parts in stock that we cannot get from our normal vendors
– Acting as a backup for Shipping
-Creating packing lists and bills of lading for out-going shipments
-Contacting carriers and setting up trucking for outgoing shipments
-Communicating with Customers, Project Managers, and other departments regarding delivery status of shipments

Basic Requirements:
– Motivated, enthusiastic, positive attitude
– Good communication skills. Team player
– Computer skills (MS office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
– Attention to detail and accuracy
– Good math skills and ability to retain information
– Ability to work with minimal supervision
– Fork Truck operation (Internal training and certification by PAI)
– Willing to work minimum of 40 hours

Physical Demands:

– Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs
– Ability to bend, kneel, walk or sit for extended periods of time
– Ability to reach above head and below knees
– Ability to climb and work at elevation
– Exposure to material handling equipment, dust and moderate noise, and use of personal protective equipment depending on scope of work

Preferred Experience:
– Previous experience in manufacturing industry
– Advanced computer skills (any ERP System)
