Manufacturing – Industrial Painter


Position Summary:
This position is responsible for painting all of the mild steel and aluminum parts used to manufacture our conveyor and specialty equipment.  PAI uses a wet spray paint system which allows us to easily match customer paint specifications and quickly change over to other colors as needed.  This is a skilled trade which the candidate must show proven competency in.  The ideal candidate for this position possesses enthusiasm and is motivated to get the job done in a fast-paced environment.  The Industrial Painter will typically lead one or two general laborers in the paint booth to assist with cleaning and material handling and is responsible for the quality of parts leaving the paint booth.  PAI emphasizes and coaches a Team approach to problem solving throughout the organization.


Daily activities will involve:
– Washing and preparing parts for painting as needed (general laborers do most of the cleaning)
– Inspecting for cleanliness and tacking of all parts prior to paint
– Spraying various sizes and shapes of steel and aluminum parts to PAI quality specifications
– Touch-up paint on completed assemblies prior to shipping as needed
– Material handling as needed (general laborers do most of the unstacking, sorting, hanging and moving parts)
– Grinding, deburring and passivating stainless steel parts when there is no painting to be done
– Maintaining spray booth and equipment
– Ordering paint, hardener, solvents and other consumable supplies for the paint booth
– Proper disposal of all paint booth waste


Basic Requirements:
– Must be able to be certified for respirator use
– Understand and conform to proper use of paint booth PPE
– Adaptable to fast paced environment
– Ability to follow instructions
– Ability to work independent or as a team
– Able to be on your feet, bend, or occasionally climb short ladder for a minimum of 8 hours a day
– Able to lift / move 50 lbs.
– Willing to work minimum of 40 hours
